Swirling pathways

Everything starts with a bang. When i was born,i am told i had a joyous camaraderie with the nurses who were taking care of my mother.Perhaps it was there from the starting. The urge to communicate. The sheer selfishness of intermingling with people who would take an instant liking to me.

I was born into an extended, middle class ,non resident ,bengali family.I had a captivating childhood.Today,i might as well just try bringing out the essence of that very childhood.

I will start by describing the vibrant times spent with each of my cousins.

Kuttidi.
There was a time when we were partners in playing the perfect couch potatoes.Growing up together we did come across many instances ,where we would be at loggerheads, but that did not stop us from carrying forward our daily rituals.

Enamoured by the idiot box,we were the patient potatoes. We would shed tears at the battles lost by Sinbad, the sailor....
he was but our favourite mascot. At a time when the arabian princess was busy spinning a yarn for the Caliph,Kuttidi and me were unknowingly entwining ourselves in the mesh of affection.....

Years later,we laugh our hearts out.Silly that we were,we would sit on the same sofa and watch Alif Laila..on Doordarshan.

We all cherish our childhood...those years of innocence, those carefree days. It's surprising how the same things that look so simple when we are children suddenly attain such complex proportions as we grow up. Adrita, you start off on a perfect note...interesting and with a subtle touch of humour. Also, ur days with kutti di are well written. But it's a little short and seems to end abruptly...so next time try to make it a little longer. Keep posting!
