My official going-away-from Calcutta post.
My plan was to get the new camera, [NIKON D60, for the people who associate cameras with make and model] click some "Calcutta" pictures and post it here. But know this, and know this for once and for all. Technology and me, we don't click.
Yesterday, while eating lunch, I became very philosophical. The generally quiet-during-heavy-lunch-consumption me was agitated at having come to a conclusion.
"I'd rather lose my dignity, behave like a loser and be happy than maintain it and be unhappy"
I think it was the prawn curry.
Ah, the prawn curry. My mother has been feeding me like as if there is no tomorrow, and even if there is, I am surely gonna die tomorrow.
So, after getting the camera, clicking pictures of my friend's pet pug doggy eating up the bow out of my friend The Deevah's newly bought shoes, I had a walk down Park street....or wait..I should discuss the totally hilarious afore-mentioned incident first.
so I am at my Friend's place, who's getting me the camera for cheap. Lets call him Subhash Ghai. Not the camera, my friend, lets call him Subhash Ghai.
So Subhash Ghai has this awesome house with an awesome-er view from the balcony. After getting the camera, I decided to click a pic from his balcony. Once I am done, The Deevah, the calm and composed Deevah, shrieks.
"Subhash Ghai!!!!! your DOG is eating my shoe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Subhash Ghai - [pretty non-plussed] "Yeah...."
The Deevah [visibly shaken] - "subhash Ghaiiiiiiiiiiiii DO Something".
Subhash Ghai gets up scolds the doggy and rescues the golden bow.
Subhash Ghai - "sorry about that"
The deevah - " its ok, I will attach the bow again"
Me - " in fact the shoe looks better without the bow"
The Deevah - "in fact, yes it does. Thanks doggy".
Doggy - :|
This has to be the worst going-away post ever in the history of blogging.
And definitely the most abrupt.
So long and thanks for the fish.
Oh, and something *blush* happened yesterday :D [No questions to be asked]
Oh, and I am a fool for not noticing things right in front of me.
And I will be traveling all on my own for the first time ever.
I wonder what I'll do when I have to pee.

i am calling right now
Have a good er trip!
I wish you all the luck required when traveling alone.
Have a Blast in your new college!
hope you get some good co passengers !
Have fun. Peeing will be a tough job but pray you have a family with a baby travelling with you. Families with babies are less prone to run away with luggages.
oktatabyebye....ive heard this before. We all are fools for not noticing things before us.
Ja Ja,shobai tora kolkata chere chole jaah.
I'd rather lose my dignity...
Doesn't DIGNITY sound like some thing else? V'NITY. :D
And thank goodness you didn't name the Dog as Subhash Ghai or Aaj Tak/India TV would have raided your personal Nikon D60 pictures for Masala.
All the best for your trip.
I'm sure you will manage to pee without any mini-disasters. Travelling alone rocks - whether train, plane or bus!
Please blog often once in M'bai.
have fun & find lots & lots of great things to do, but please remember to blog, don't be one of those people who somehow just disappear when they leave! =(
new comer to ur blog, you do have interesting images of Kol!
where areyou going?
also, i have a solution to the last problem, since i end up always travelling alone. on a train, always keep your luggage secured with chain-and-lock to rings below the seat (even i didn't know of their existence until i was pointed out).
flight, people mostly don't touch other people's luggage. if you're especially unlucky, hold the bladder for a few hours, no flight inside india is longer than that.
long-distance buses, other people are busy relieving themselves at pretty much the same time, having an emergengy puke, queuing up at the loo and such. when/where a bus stops, there's almost nobody left inside :P
no title is no problem ..
oh bugga !! i m off the blogroll yea?
